God’s Plan Always Works for Our Good – A Reflection on Romans 8:28
By Chris N. Braza
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28 (NIV)
Life is full of uncertainties. There are moments of joy and moments of pain, seasons of abundance and times of struggle. But as believers, we hold onto a powerful promise in Romans 8:28—God is working all things together for our good.
This verse does not say that everything in life will be easy or pleasant. It doesn’t promise a life free of trials. Instead, it reassures us that no matter what happens, God is in control. Every challenge, every setback, and even every failure has a purpose in His divine plan.
Trusting God Even When Life Doesn’t Make Sense
There are times when we question why certain things happen—why we face loss, why doors close, or why prayers seem unanswered. But the truth is, God sees the bigger picture. What seems like a delay or a detour is often God positioning us for something greater.
Joseph, in the Bible, is a perfect example. He was sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned. But later, he became a ruler in Egypt and saved many lives. Looking back, Joseph could say, “You meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20).
Loving God and Aligning with His Purpose
Romans 8:28 comes with a condition—it applies to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. This means we must walk in faith, trust in His will, and remain committed to His calling in our lives. When we align ourselves with Him, we can have confidence that everything—both good and bad—is working for our ultimate good.
God’s Goodness Never Fails
If you are facing difficulties today, remember that God is not finished with your story. He is weaving everything together for a greater purpose. Even in trials, hold onto His promise—what the enemy meant for harm, God will turn for good.
Keep trusting. Keep believing. God is at work in your life!
BE BLESSED BEYOND MEASURE!
