1. Do the Laws of Attraction and Assumption really work?

Law of Attraction (LoA): The idea is that like attracts like—what you focus on, you attract.
Law of Assumption (LoA 2.0): Popularized by Neville Goddard, it says that whatever you assume to be true, becomes your reality.

Reality check:

  • Psychologically: Yes, to some extent, they work. Why? Because when you believe something strongly (assumption), your brain starts filtering reality to match that belief. It’s called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). For example, if you believe you’ll succeed, you’re more likely to see opportunities and act boldly.

  • Behaviorally: Your actions follow your beliefs. If you assume something will happen, you're more likely to take steps that help bring it to pass. This is what people confuse with “manifestation.”

But…

It's not magic. It's mindset + action.
Just "thinking rich" doesn't make you rich—you need strategy, work, and grace.

2. Why do they say “the universe will make it happen”?

That phrase is rooted in New Age spirituality, which often treats the universe like a conscious force. It’s poetic, but not always biblical or logical. When people say “the universe provides,” what they often mean is that they trust unseen forces to bring their desires to them.

But in truth…

The universe has no will. It’s a creation, not a Creator.

3. Is the universe God?

No. That’s a pantheistic belief—saying that God is the universe. But as a pastor and Christian, you know this clashes with Scripture:

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." —Genesis 1:1
"The heavens declare the glory of God..." —Psalm 19:1

God created the universe; He is outside of it, above it, and sovereign over it.

So, what’s the biblical view?

  • Faith is real. Jesus said, “According to your faith let it be done to you” (Matthew 9:29).

  • Renewing your mind matters (Romans 12:2).

  • God is the one who makes things happen, not the universe.

  • Prayers, not assumptions, move mountains—through faith in Christ, not self-will.

Bottom line: The laws of attraction and assumption tap into psychological and behavioral truths, but they are not spiritual laws in themselves. They are tools, not truths. As believers, we must filter everything through the Word of God.

In truth alone,
