Sermon Title: We Have the Mind of Christ

Text: 1 Corinthians 2:16

The Apostle Paul, writing to the Corinthians, contrasts two types of people: the natural man who cannot understand spiritual things, and the spiritual man who discerns all things through the Holy Spirit. Then he makes a bold declaration: “But we have the mind of Christ.” This is a powerful truth in a world filled with confusion, corruption, and conflicting voices. Believers are not left in the dark—we have access to the wisdom, perspective, and heart of Christ.

This truth brings hope: we are not prisoners of worldly thinking! Through the Holy Spirit, God enables us to understand His will, see life through His eyes, and live with purpose. While the world may run after power, riches, and pride, we, as God’s people, are equipped to walk in humility, truth, and love. The mind of Christ allows us to rise above fear, confusion, and deception.

How then do we live with the mind of Christ?

  1. Surrender daily to the Holy Spirit – yield your thoughts and decisions to His leading.

  2. Renew your mind with Scripture – let God’s Word shape how you think.

  3. Pray and worship – exchange your limited thoughts for God’s eternal perspective.

  4. Walk in community – surround yourself with fellow believers who sharpen your faith.

  5. Practice humility and service – reflect Christ by putting others first.

Remember Philippians 2:5–8: “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross.” That is the mind of Christ—humility, obedience, and love. When we live with this mindset, we shine as lights in a dark world.

Beloved, having the mind of Christ means thinking His thoughts, walking in His humility, and serving with His love. In a world filled with selfishness and corruption, we are called to be different. Let us live each day surrendered to the Spirit, rooted in Scripture, and guided by Christ’s example.

Seal it with this declaration:
“I will not think like the world. I have the mind of Christ—renewed, Spirit-led, and kingdom-focused.”

Be Blessed Beyond Measure!

Chris N. Braza, Tr./Pr.
