GOD’S PURPOSE PREVAILS
Beloved brothers and sisters,
there is a truth we must return to again and again—
God’s purpose prevails.
Not our plans.
Not our timelines.
Not even our best intentions.
The Bible says in Proverbs 19:21,
“Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
Notice the honesty of Scripture.
It does not say plans are wrong.
It says plans are many.
But purpose is one—and that one belongs to God.
I. WHEN PLANS FAIL, PURPOSE IS STILL AT WORK
Some of you planned for progress, but met delay.
You planned for peace, but encountered pressure.
You planned for clarity, but walked into confusion.
And you asked, “Lord, where are You in this?”
Hear this clearly:
God does His deepest work when our plans collapse.
Joseph planned to live as a favored son—
but he ended up in a pit.
Then a slave.
Then a prisoner.
From the pit, it looked like failure.
From the prison, it felt forgotten.
But from the palace, it was clear—
God’s purpose never left him.
What looked like a setback
was actually a setup for salvation.
II. GOD’S PURPOSE IS STRONGER THAN HUMAN ACTIONS
People may betray you.
Systems may fail you.
Even your own decisions may disappoint you.
But listen carefully:
No human action can overthrow God’s redemptive purpose.
Men meant the cross to silence Jesus.
Heaven used it to save the world.
They nailed Him in weakness—
but God raised Him in power.
What humans call the end,
God calls the turning point.
Do not give too much power
to what people did to you.
Give more trust
to what God is doing through it.
III. PURPOSE DOES NOT RUSH—BUT IT NEVER MISSES
We live in a generation that wants instant results.
Instant answers.
Instant breakthroughs.
But God is not in a hurry—
because He is never late.
Ecclesiastes reminds us:
“He makes everything beautiful in its time.”
Purpose unfolds in seasons:
-
A season to wait
-
A season to learn
-
A season to obey
-
And finally, a season to reveal
If God has not revealed it yet,
it means He is still preparing you for it.
IV. OUR CALL: FAITHFULNESS, NOT CONTROL
Here is our role:
Not to force the future,
but to be faithful today.
Not to understand everything,
but to trust the One who does.
When we pray,
“Your will be done,”
we are not surrendering to defeat—
we are aligning with victory.
Because when God’s will is done,
nothing is wasted:
-
Not your tears
-
Not your waiting
-
Not your wounds
All of it becomes part of the story.
CONCLUSION: REST IN THIS TRUTH
Beloved, take heart today.
If you are confused—God is not.
If you feel delayed—God is not late.
If you feel weak—God’s purpose is strong.
Say this by faith:
I may not see it yet,
but God’s purpose prevails.
And when His purpose is revealed,
you will look back and say:
“Now I understand—
He was working all along.”
Amen.
Be Blessed Beyond Measure!
