IN HIM WE LIVE, MOVE, AND HAVE OUR BEING
Acts 17:28
"For in Him we live and move and have our being." — Acts 17:28 (NIV)
ENGLISH
There is a profound truth hidden within these simple words of Scripture. The Apostle Paul stood before the philosophers of Athens and declared a reality that remains true today: our existence is completely dependent upon God.
Every breath we take is a gift from Him.
Every heartbeat is sustained by His grace.
Every step we make is possible because He allows us to live, move, and exist.
Modern society often teaches self-sufficiency. We are encouraged to believe that success comes solely from our talents, education, hard work, or resources. While these things are valuable, Acts 17:28 reminds us that behind every ability stands the God who created us.
Without Him, life loses its true meaning.
Without Him, movement becomes wandering.
Without Him, existence becomes empty.
The verse does not merely say that God created us in the past. It teaches that He actively sustains us in the present. At this very moment, God is holding your life together. He knows your struggles, your fears, your dreams, and even the silent prayers you have not spoken aloud.
Perhaps you feel weak today.
Perhaps your future seems uncertain.
Perhaps you are carrying burdens too heavy for your shoulders.
Remember this: You are not surviving by your strength alone. God is sustaining you. The fact that you are still standing is evidence of His faithfulness.
When we recognize that our lives are rooted in Him, pride gives way to humility, anxiety gives way to trust, and fear gives way to worship.
We do not simply live for God.
We live because of God.
And because He is the source of our being, we can confidently place our lives in His hands.
TAGALOG
"Sapagkat sa Kanya tayo'y nabubuhay, kumikilos, at may ating pagkatao." — Gawa 17:28
Reflection
Today, pause for a moment and thank God for the gift of life. Every breath is a reminder that He is near. Every heartbeat testifies to His sustaining grace. And every new day is evidence that His purpose for you is not yet finished.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You because in You I live, move, and have my being. Remind me daily that my life is sustained by Your grace. Teach me to trust You in every season and to acknowledge You as the source of all that I am. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Be Blessed Beyond Measure!
